Is it legal to park your car in a way that blocks the sidewalk?
No! Section 1202 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law prohibits parking on a sidewalk or crosswalk. That includes parking in a driveway that blocks pedestrian access to a sidewalk. These regulations apply regardless of ongoing activities such as special events and construction sites.
