New Community Data Portal
The City of Ithaca is pleased to announce the launch of a new Community Data Portal, to be found at https://data-ithacany.opendata.arcgis.com/
While the focus of the portal is on GIS datasets being shared with everyone in the community, it is equally focused on creating access to interactive content about City amenities, assets, and initiatives. This approach takes data to the next level, telling a story or answering questions. This browser based portal has a user friendly interface accessible by technical and non -technical users alike.
We invite residents, visitors, researchers, students, and anyone who is interested to explore the community through this data sharing portal. Browse through tree tours, find amenities available at parks, and download data such as survey monuments, zoning districts, or base map layers.
We have posted and described the data most frequently requested for easy download in the Community Data section. Visit the Tools & Apps section to answer specific questions such as what is my calculated impervious area for storm water fees, or what can you tell me about the property where I live, or to search for someone buried in the City cemetery. You can also explore the City’s past through historic aerial imagery.
We are especially happy to share the Stories & Initiatives section (Check back periodically for new additions) In this section you can learn about businesses opening in Phase IV, take an interactive virtual tour through City trees and parks, and learn about the success of the City’s Sidewalk Program through data on improvements made since 2014.
You can also learn more about the importance of everyone being counted in the 2020 Census! Please use the link provided in the portal to fill out your form if you have not.
After exploring the portal, please take our quick survey to let us know what you found and what else you would like to see on this portal.
