Ithaca Youth Bureau Advisory Board:
- The Advisory Board provides a vehicle for citizen input to the operation of the Youth Bureau and the policies that affect the way Bureau services are provided.
- Members bring the concerns of the Youth Bureau before public and elected officials.
- Members serve as advisors, planners, evaluators and advocated for outstanding community programs.
- There are several seats reserved for youth in the community. These youth are valued for their opinions, supported by Youth Bureau staff, encouraged to be active members and are eligible to hold officer positions.
- Meeting time: 2nd Monday of the month from 6:00-7:30pm at the Ithaca Youth Bureau.
- The Recreation Partnership is a cooperative endeavor by ten municipalities within Tompkins County. This unique alliance is one of the largest in the state.
- The Ithaca Youth Bureau Recreation Division is the program provider. The Tompkins County Youth Bureau gives planning and financial coordination. The contributions of the county and the participating municipalities help keep programs affordable and accessible.
- Individual program boards contribute ideas and assist with projects to support the mission of the program. Members also work to promote awareness of the goals and successes of the programs.
- Programs with Advisory Boards include: Big Brothers Big Sisters, College Discovery Program, Ithaca Youth Council and the Paul Schreurs Memorial Program.
- Meeting dates and times vary by program. Contact individual program coordinators for additional information.
- The Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau is a new non-profit organization dedicated to raising community awareness of and building financial support for the services and programs of the Ithaca Youth Bureau.
- Friends of the IYB is currently seeking community members interested in serving on the organization's board of directors and on its committees. Volunteers assist with public awareness activities and resource development targeted at IYB needs that are not met through its public funding sources.
