Construction Management

Engineer's Office oversees projects from start to finish, being the point of contact between the City and the contractor.
Engineering Services
Provides services for the Department of Public Works along with all other City Departments. Services include design, site plan review, mapping, project management and inspection.
Record Keeping
The Engineer's Office is the official record keeper for all City maps, along with all City Benchmarks. (Request a Map)
Sidewalk Program
Provides assessment and repair requirements, rules and regulations, sidewalk permits applications, and a list of contractors that work on sidewalks. Appeals or protests to sidewalk assessment bills must be made to the Board of Public Works.
Traffic
The Engineer's Office studies traffic needs within the City, ensuring signal timings are correct and proposes traffic calming services to the State of New York and Board of Public Works. Also included in traffic services is bicycle and pedestrian traffic needs.
Traffic Signals & Signs
To request a new traffic sign or report damage to an existing sign, complete this report form. Traffic Signals are traffic control devices at the intersections of City streets and are maintained by City Electricians. To report a traffic signal (light) outage, please complete this notification form. Street lights illuminate City streets at night and are maintained by New York State Electric & Gas (NYSEG).
