  • Fill in the required portions of the bid document, including the bid proposal and non-collusion certification.
  • Attach required submittals to the bid proposal.
  • Sign the bid proposal.

Request for Bids: 617 Five Mile Drive

The City of Ithaca, New York is requesting sealed bids for the purchase of an approximately 3-acre sub-parcel of unimproved land at 617 Five Mile Drive in the Town of Ithaca. This Property is the portion of tax parcel #31.-2-6 located west of the Norfolk Southern railroad line. Attached are maps of the Property for sale. The City intends to award a sales contract to the Bidder who offers the highest purchase price and whose sealed bid is in full compliance with the Bid requirements listed in the Request for Bids. A minimum acceptable bid price of $16,875 has been set. The deadline for receipt of bids is 4:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2014.

Old Elmira Road Complete Streets Project

Sealed bids for the City of Ithaca – Department of Public Works Department, Old Elmira Road Complete Streets Project will be received by Scott Andrews at the Office of the City Controller of the City of Ithaca, 108 East Green Street, Ithaca, NY  14850 on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at 1:00 PM and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.

Access the bid documents by following these Instructions (open all documents with the folder entitled "Old Elmira Road Complete Streets Project")           

This project consists of providing materials, equipment, and labor to reconstruct approximately 2000 linear feet of Old Elmira Road in the City of Ithaca. The work includes, but is not limited to, removal of the existing road section, installation and repair of storm water facilities, sidewalk, installation of granite curbing, sub-base, structural soil, asphalt pavement, pavement striping and maintenance and protection of traffic. This is a unit price contract. 

The Work must be substantially completed within 120 days, and ready for final payment within 150 days. Furthermore, all asphalt and concrete work shall be complete and ready for final acceptance on or before October 31, 2014.  Bidders should pay attention to the Supplemental Instructions to Bidders.

A Pre- Bid Meeting will be held at 10:00am, in Common Council Chambers, Third Floor, 108 E. Green St. Ithaca, New York, on Tuesday May 27, 2014. Due to the complexity of this project, attendance is strongly recommended.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the Owner.

Water Treatment Plant - Construction of Water System Improvements

Sealed bids will be received for the construction of water system improvements, Contract No. 4A – General, Contract No. 4B – Electrical, Contract No. 4C - HVAC, and Contract No. 4D - Plumbing .  The project sites are the City of Ithaca’s Water Treatment Plant and Pumping Facility located at 202 Water St., Ithaca NY.  This project consists of selective demolition of the existing plant, construction of a new six million gallon per day capacity water treatment plant, and installation of membrane filtration equipment procured by the City of Ithaca.

The Owner is exempt from the payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and of cities and counties on all materials, equipment and supplies sold to the Owner pursuant to this contract.  Also exempt from such taxes are purchases by the Contractor and his Subcontractors of materials, equipment and supplies to be sold to the Owner pursuant to this Contract, including tangible personal property to be incorporated in any structure, building or other real property forming part of the Project. These taxes are not to be included in the Bid.

Each Bid must be accompanied by certified/bank check or bid bond in an amount not less than 5% of the amount of the base Bid.  If, upon acceptance of his bid, a Bidder fails to enter into a Contract with the City of Ithaca the bid security shall be forfeited to and become the property of the Owner.

A Pre-Bid meeting will be held at 10:00 am, Local Time, Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the City of Ithaca Water Treatment Plant.  All potential bidders are encouraged to attend.

Intersection Bulb-Outs on West Green and West Seneca Streets

The proposed project is the construction of intersection bulb-outs within four intersections, West Green Street (NYS Rte 79 EB) with Corn Street, West Green Street (NYS Rte 79 EB) with Plain Street, West Seneca Street (NYS Rte 79 WB) with Corn Street and West Seneca Street (NYS Rte 70 WB) with Plain Street in the City of Ithaca, New York.  West Green Street and West Seneca Street are owned by the New York State Department of Transportation and maintained by the City of Ithaca.  Corn Street and Plain Street are owned and maintained by the City of Ithaca. No change in maintenance jurisdiction is proposed.  The project will include curb installation, landscaping, curb ramps and concrete sidewalks. This project is a Unit Price contract including a Base Bid.

2014 Sidewalk Improvement District Work - SID Project #1

Sealed Bids for the “2014 Sidewalk Improvement District Work” project located in the City of Ithaca, New York will be received by the office of the City Controller at 108 East Green Street, Ithaca, NY until August 8, 2013 at 3:00 PM. The bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed project is to provide improvements to sidewalk segments throughout the City of Ithaca. The project will primarily include removal and replacement of existing sidewalk. All sidewalks are within the City of Ithaca right of way. This project is a Unit Price contract including a Base Bid and One Alternate, and a required Phasing Plan.

Ithaca Falls Overlook EPA BCP Project

Sealed Bids for the “Ithaca Falls Overlook EPA BCP Project” project located in the City of Ithaca, New York will be received by the office of the City Controller at 108 East Green Street, Ithaca, NY until September 15, 2014, at 2:00 PM. The bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud.

The proposed project includes, but is not limited to, excavation, vacuuming, stabilization, and disposal of lead-impacted soils.  This project includes preparation of a project staging plan, health and safety plans, and site decontamination plan, coordination with Dig Safely, excavation/vacuuming and staging of soils, sampling of staged soils, soil stabilization and treatment to render soils non-hazardous, disposal of the soils using a licensed hauler, and site restoration and clean up.

There will be an on-site pre-bid meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014.  All bidders are required to attend.
