Water Treatment Plant
March 17, 2020
ISSUE: Avoiding any water quality regulatory violations.
NEED: Allowing the water treatment plant (WTP) staff access to businesses for monthly routine sampling. Employees have ID and can be asked for it, if not on a displayed tag. Businesses can call the WTP to verify the employee at; 273-4680.
CONFLICTS: If access is needed to comply with regulations and denied, expect the following:
1). A call from the Tompkins County Health Dept. (TCHD), confirming the sample is required for
2). A TCHD sanitarian and a WTP employee may show up at your door for access to sample.
Assuring water quality, especially during the current events with the COIVD-19, is a necessity. We do not get variances for maintaining the water quality, without extreme circumstances and those are related to issue with the water itself, or unavoidable process issues. In a sense it is still business as usual for most, if not all utilities. So please bear with us and be considerate.
If you have questions please contact the WTP at 273-4680
Or the TCHD at 274-6688
