Construction Update- Albany Street Reconstruction

PROJECT LOCATION: Albany Street from Green Street to Buffalo Street: 100 Block of South Albany Street, 100, 200 Blocks of North Albany Street

PROJECT START DATE:  Friday, July 12, 2019

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND GOAL: G. DeVincentis and Son Construction Company will be milling the top course of asphalt off in preparation to place new top course on all three blocks listed above. The Contractor will remove the top course in its entirety on the 100 Block of South Albany, the State / Albany intersection, the southbound lane of the 100 Block of North Albany, and a small section of the northbound lane of the 200 Block of North Albany on Friday, July 12, 2019. The Contractor will begin full depth removal of the asphalt in the triangular areas at the crosswalks located at the Seneca / Albany intersection on Monday, July 15, 2019, continuing into Tuesday, July 16, 2019. The Contractor will work Wednesday and Thursday to prepare for the placement of asphalt in the areas mentioned above. On Friday, July 19, 2019 asphalt placement in these areas is scheduled to be completed. The work includes but is not limited to the following items:
Milling of existing top course of asphalt and full depth removal in certain areas.
Installation Base, Binder, and Top courses of asphalt.

T-CAT Bus routes will be changed to accommodate this work. Please check with T-CAT for scheduling and locations during these operations.

There will be substantial traffic impacts as the Contractor will close the blocks being worked on, open to local traffic only when possible.

Detours will be set up for travel around the block being worked on.

There will be No Parking during operations on the blocks being worked on.

Sidewalk closures will occur with pedestrians will be detoured around the work areas.

There may be times when one lane of the road is open, however, please be alert to changing work zone conditions.

RECOMMENDED DETOURS: Roadway detours will be posted as well as pedestrian detours.
