Parks & Recreation Master Plan

The City has been working with PROS Consulting to create a master plan for its parks system and recreation programming. The plan provides a system-wide approach to managing and operating the City’s nearly 380 acres of parkland and more than three miles of publicly-accessible waterfront. It provides recommendations to achieve the vision the community has for the park and recreation system as well as to achieve greater financial sustainability without sacrificing the value of the park assets and amenities or reducing the level of experiences and services available to users.

After several months of data collection, park visits, and community input, the draft Parks & Recreation Master Plan is available for public review. In addition to the plan, there are several technical reports that summarize the work that has been completed to date, including a demographic and trends analysis, a statistically-valid county-wide survey, and site assessments of each City park.

The draft master plan and all of the technical reports are available below. We hope you will take some time to review the draft plan and share your thoughts with us. Please send your comments and questions to Megan Wilson, Senior Planner, at
