The City has been working with PROS Consulting to create a master plan for its parks system and recreation programming. The plan provides a system-wide approach to managing and operating the City’s nearly 380 acres of parkland and more than three miles of publicly-accessible waterfront. It provides recommendations to achieve the vision the community has for the park and recreation system as well as to achieve greater financial sustainability without sacrificing the value of the park assets and amenities or reducing the level of experiences and services available to users.
The Common Council adopted the Parks & Recreation Master Plan on June 6, 2018, and the City is now focusing on implementation of the plan. The master plan and all of the accompanying technical reports are available below. If you have any questions, please contact Megan Wilson, Senior Planner, at mwilson@cityofithaca.org
