Regular meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in Common Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, City Hall, 108 E. Green Street, Ithaca, NY 14850.

Overview & Duties

The Board of Zoning Appeals reviews orders, requirements, decisions, interpretations and/or determinations made by the administrative official charged with the enforcement of ordinances or local laws adopted by Common Council. The concurring vote of a majority of the members of the Board of Appeals is necessary to reverse any order, requirement, decision or determination of any such administrative official, or to grant a use variance or area variance. Such appeal may be taken by any person aggrieved, or by an officer, department, board or bureau of the City.
